Mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday May 13th and 14th for our Farm Open House from 10 am to 5 pm both days. Treat your mom (or yourself) to a visit to the flower farm. Come see how we farm, shop our spring plant sale, and create your own floral masterpiece at the “build your own bouquet” bar. There will be music under the willow tree from 1-4. each day.
We are delighted to have special guests this year. There will be fabulous handmade vases from Polly Wood Ceramics that you can use to make beautiful arrangements for mom. As owner of Polly’s Cakes, Polly Wood used to decorate her wedding cakes with sugar made flowers. She is now thrilled to hand build ceramic vases and fill them with real flowers from local growers like Heather’s Flower Farm. Her work can also be seen at 301Gallery and by appointment at her studio/greenhouse.
Grow Organic will be bringing their organically grown veggie and herb starts to get your kitchen garden going.
Every spring we start hundreds of varieties of flowers and foliages from seed, including many special beauties that aren’t commonly found as starter plants. Along with choice cut flower plants, we’ve expanded the plant sale selection to offer more perennials, pollinator plants, herbs, and plants that are good for patio pots.
The farm is located at 2931 Reed Road. We are not open to the public regularly so this is a chance for a behind the scenes look. This is a real working farm, there are uneven surfaces, flying (and stinging) insects, etc. Children are most welcome but should be under your supervision. Our gang of farm cats asks that you leave dogs at home.
