Dutch Masters Floral Workshop April 26
$135.00
9:30 a.m. to noon
Location: Heather’s Flower Farm | Hood River, Oregon
Indulge your love of spring blooms with this floral design workshop that takes its inspiration from Dutch master paintings. We’ve got Tulipomania! The class will feature an array of glamorous flowers including specialty tulips, ranunculus, anemone, narcissus and more for that rich, opulent look straight out of a 17th century painting.
This beautiful image is by Clara Peeters (1587-1636). During the workshop we’ll discuss the history of Dutch still life painting as well as photograph your creations with lighting and props to mimic the Dutch style.
The workshop is great for beginners and more experienced flower arrangers alike. We’ll start with a farm tour. Walk the rows and cut your choice of flowers. You’ll learn how to harvest at just the right stage and how to process blooms for the longest vase life. Then Heather will demonstrate an arrangement in her romantic, garden-inspired style before you dive in to create a lush and wild arrangement to take home. Our farm is known for the diversity of flowers we grow – you’re sure to discover a beautiful flower or unusual foliage you’ve never used before.
Each class includes all the tools you need, a vase chosen to accent the seasonal flowers and a wide variety of blooms to arrange.
Light seasonal refreshments are provided during the workshop.
Class size is limited to 10 people.
No refunds are offered for students who can not make it after registering, but you are welcome to give your class to a friend to take instead of you.
